I know Ghana movie posters have been posted on many different web sites and blogs, but I wanted to post some too. This is going to be a 10 part series.
Back in the 80's when everyone wanted a VCR most people in West Africa did not have the money for one. The people that did have the money for VCR's and Videos traveled around from village to village with a VCR, TV and sometimes a generator showing their newest video tapes. Instead of movie poster like a lot of us have hanging on our walls they paid artists to paint a poster for them to travel with them to show what movie they was playing at the time. These posters was painted on the backs of used flour sacks, and most of the time was just a copy of the box art, but other times the artist just painted whatever he or she wanted haveing watched the movie did not seem to be part of the deal as some of these posters have characters that are not even in the movie. See some of the posters after the jump.
